Forum Posting is Dead Don’t Use it, Unless…

Forum posting is dead don’t use it, unless you are going to do it the right way.

I do allot of reading on Internet marketing. I join programs from all the major players. You just have to stay on top of what’s going on.

I do this for two reasons.

  1. To learn what my competition is doing.
  2. To find out what’s hot at the moment.

Let’s set the record straight. There are no real secrets. This is all very simple but you have to find something that works for you and stick with it and tweak it till you have perfected it. Then and only then move on to the next thing. You’ve heard it from just about everybody, they tell you to focus.

Here’s the Big thing I want you to learn from this article. Don’t believe anybody till you test it yourself.

I was told forum posting is dead. You won’t get any traffic that way.

If someone tells you it doesn’t work any longer you should test it. Make your own determination. And that’s exactly what I did.

What I found out about forum postings is that if done wrong yes it’s dead. And the old way and wrong way of doing it will get you banned and un-liked by many of the people you are trying to help.

What I mean by help is that when you are in a niche market and are trying to be known as an authority figure in that area you don’t want to be making enemies in that niche.

I know your saying where are you going with this. Let me first tell you what the wrong way to do forum postings are.

WRONG WAY!

  1. Using software to do posts to 100’s of forums with your link back to your site IS NOT the right way to do it.
  2. Making quick posts to a forum topic with no real benefit to the readership IS NOT the right way to do it.

RIGHT WAY!

The right way to make forum postings is to:

  1. Follow the forum rules to the letter.
  2. Give the readership good quality information.

Take your mind off of how you are going to put your fancy ad in the forum post. Most forums don’t allow it anyway.

What most forums do allow is for you to put a link to your site which is tied to your name in the posting.

Again I stress check each forum for there rules but here are some tips to help you get excellent traffic from forum posts.

When creating your forum user-name (some forums do this) use a name related to your site. like ListAdvce. Then when you add your link in the sign-up your post will have your site-name with a link.

Give the best information when posting. When answering questions give good answers that will help the readership.

Do one forum post once a day on 10 forums related to your niche topic and watch your traffic soar.

Please Don’t take my word for it. Test it yourself.

Sincerely,
Glen Barnhardt
