1. Setup a page to capture your customers.
2. Drive traffic to that page.
3. Offer your customers quality content.
4. Make available quality products for your customers to purchase.

For steps 1 and 4 you will need a quality autoresponder service to caputre the emails and then in turn to offer your customers good quality content. I can’t stress this enough good quality content will keep your customers wanting to get emails from you.

The autoreponder service you choose is very important. You want to make sure that the service you choose has at a minimum these features:

a) Good Deliverability at least 95%.
b) Follow up messages. So that you can send an on going series of content to your customers.
c) Web Form Generator. This will allow you to generate the html code for the opt-in form.

There are many more features that autoreponders have but these are a must have.

Content is important. Pick a subject that you know alot about. Don’t get fooled by the systems available to generate content. These are good for a quick buck but are not a good long term strategy. As I said before you want to provide your customers with good content. Creating that content yourself is the best method. You could also outsource your articles to a freelance writer as this way you will still get good content.

Once you have a page up with your autoresponder form on it you will need to drive traffic. Traffic is a very big topic. I will be writting many different articles on this very topic. But for the quick version there are many ways to generate traffic. I will list just a few here:

• Article Marketing
• Blogging
• Social Bookmarking
• Forum Marketing
• Ebay Traffic
• Traffic Exchanges
• Pay Per Click

You should choose one method and work on it till you have it mastered and then move on to the next.

One of the big problems we have in [tag]Internet Marketing[/tag] is Attention Deficit Disorder. We all want to make money and we jump from one Internet Wave to the next trying to find that golden egg. But all along it is right in front of you and all you have to do is set a plan and stick to it.

You now have the steps to build a list so how can we make money from it.

Again there are many ways but I will teach you the easiest to get started.

Affiliate Marketing is the easiest method. With affiliate marketing you find good quality products that are a good match for your customers. You offer these to your customers. With affiliate products you will get paid a percent of the product price.

There are many great products available you can find them at places like clickbank or commission junction. You can also purchase Private Label Rights products to offer your customers that will have no affilaite commissions.

How fast you build your list will determine how quickly you will reach the income goal the more traffic you can send the faster the list will grow. You will need to get your list to be at least 2,000 – 4,000 people in order to make $2,000.00 to $4,000.00 a month income.

For each person on your list you should be able to make $1.00 a month.

So many times people have told me I have picked xyz topic and I’m going to build my list about that. I then ask them; “have you done any keyword research on this topic to see what kind of traffic you will get”? Usually the reply is no.

You simply cannot fly blind when you’re choosing a topic. You need to know:

• What keyword phrases to use.

• What kind of traffic you can drive to your keywords

• What kind of competition you are facing for those keywords.

So the first thing you will need to do is keyword research.

When doing keyword research you are going to want to spend a lot of time choosing the right keyword phrases. You are going to need to use a good keyword research tool. There are some things to know about keyword research tools. There are many of them out there but you need to know where is the data coming from to determine the information you are being given.

If you don’t know where the data is coming from you really don’t know how accurate the results will be.

Many will tell you to use overture (Now called Yahoo Search Marketing). Overture has been around for a long time and the information you are being returned is on the previous 30 days searches. Also important to note is that all the queries being done for research on pay per click advertising also count as a search. This means that the results you get from overture are not that accurate. Also since they only show the last 30 days it’s hard to do research on holiday keywords since that month may have been months prior. The nice thing about overture is it is a free tool.

Another very popular research tool is Word Tracker. Now word tracker has data for a much longer period of time and they get there data from the meta search engines which doesn’t have pay per click advertising so there data is much more accurate. The downside of word tracker is that the meta search data that they use only represents about 9% of the total searches done on the internet. Word tracker is very good if you are just looking for the latest trend keywords. Word tracker is pricey if you will be doing a lot of ongoing keyword research.

Keyword Discovery has data from many of the top search engines. There data is for a year and they cover almost the whole pie when it comes to where the search data comes from.

My favorite is NicheBot. NicheBot has contracts with Word Tracker, Keyword Discovery, Google, Overture and a few others and this is one of the best keyword research tools available they have very good tutorials to walk you through the whole process of finding keywords. Using NicheBot you will be able to get the largest list of keywords to work with on your list. Pricing is very fair with a $1 trial offer and reasonable monthly membership fees.

Now that you know which tools to do your research with and why you need to know where the data is coming from let’s talk about the keywords a bit.

While doing your research find every keyword possible that has decent traffic but is not too competitive. The keywords will usually be two or three word keyword phrases. The term is called long tail. You are going to have to select the main one or two keywords for the site but keep the other keywords so you can write articles and use them to drive traffic to the site.

So just to summarize:

• You want to use a good keyword research tool one that has data that will give you the most accurate results.

• You want to find targeted keyword phrases that are about your list topic.

•  You want to choose the one or two best keywords to target your list with.

• The remaining keywords can be used to drive traffic to your site.

After using the information contained in this document you should be able to easily pick a niche topic for your list.

If you are new to internet marketing BlackHat is a term used to mean that the method is Unetical and Whitehat means everything is done totally above board and to the book.

Personally I wouldn’t use the method I’m about to describe as the search engines most definely frown on this and if caught you will get your site banned. So yes this is very risky. But also very profitable.

I’m telling you about this method because at some point someone will tell you about this or create a software product that uses this technique and I want you to be well educated enough to make your own decision as to use it or not.

The Search Engine Stealth Technology is a method called cloaking where you create content pages specifically for the search engines. They don’t even have to make much sense as long as the sentences are keyword rich and follows all the rules of SEO (meta keywords, meta description, heading tags ect..).

These pages are not designed for human viewing and in a moment I will tell you how we keep humans from seeing them.

Search engine spiders come to your site to see what content you have and this is how you get good page placement and rankings. Sites with good quality unique content and lots of high ranking incoming links will always end up in the top of the search engine search results.

These spiders come in and they actually tell you who they are. So with software you can tell the difference between a spider and a human user.

With that said when a spider comes to your site you show him all your search engine created pages full of just what the spiders want to see keyword rich pages, however when a web surfer comes to your page you show him your main site page.

The reason you would want to do this is that we like to talk to our potential customers in our own words not some page filled with keywords to make the spiders happy. Also since all your SEO pages are only shown to the spiders humans can’t steal your keywords.

Now there are two ways this can be done. The first is to look at the name that is given when the spider comes to your site. And if its a spider show them the good stuff. The second is to use IP adresses of the spiders. This method is better because the search engines can find you easier with the first method as all they have to do is change the name they are coming in as.

Usually a human tester from the search engine is the way that you would get caught using this method. Once a spider reveals your site as a cloaked site. This is usually way after your site has been positioned high in the results.

KloakIt is one such software product that does this search engine cloaking.

You don’t want to put your main site at risk of being banned. And if caught they usually ban the site and the domain. So blackhat marketers use dispoable domains and put the software on that page and then redirect to your main page this way only your disposable domain will get banned and then you start over.

Well thats it…

Again this was just to give you the knowledge of the technique and I’m NOT recommending you use it.

First thing you will need to do is setup a blog. To go thorough all of the steps to setup a blog is beyond the scope of this article. There are two ways you can go one would be to use a service like blogger where you can have your blog setup in minutes and be blogging. The second would be to install a blog yourself on your own domain. The latter has much more benefits but requires you to have some technical abilities. If you are not technical and wish to have your own blog on your own domain consider outsourching to get it done. There are lots of places like that you can hire a professional to install your blog. To name a couple elance.com freelance.com.

The nice thing about blogs is that people are members of blogging communities and these people will see your articles and come to your site. Instant traffic. Now for you to get hooked up to these blogging communities can be automatic or you may need to submit your site. Pingomatic.com is a great source to get your blog sent to many of the biggest communities.

Blogging software like wordpress already has this built in.

To get good quality traffic you need to post to your blog frequently. Stay away from using automated software to ad content to your blog. It is always best to have unique qualtiy content. If your not a writer consider outsourcing for your articles. You can get articles done for around $4 to $5 dollars each. Don’t pay any less than that or your articles will not be of a good enough quality.

Now most important add a place for people to signup for your list. Having something to give away for free is a good way to get more signups. Unlike the squeeze page method this requires you to have something of benefit to give your customers. Your good content and any quality item you have to give them will ensure a higher rate of signups.

 Make sure your signup form is above the fold. Above the fold means it’s viewable without scrolling down.

Once you have your blog up and you have posted lots of good content you can then begin to use other ways to drive traffic to your blog and get even more traffic.

In part 2 of my traffic series we are going to learn about Article Marketing.

Before we get into how to do article marketing lets answer the question, “How can it drive traffic to my site?”.

There are hundreds of article submission sites on the internet that you can submit your articles to. When you do this you will be able to put a small bio at the bottom of your article and in that bio mention your site. When anyone reads your article they will see your bio and click on the link to your site. We will talk more about this bio later.

There are many sites on the internet that use content from these article sites. This will give you even more exposure as hundreds of sites will have your article on there site and they must display your bio. This is how you get the traffic.

With article Marketing you must create your own article or outsource to have one done. If you outsource make sure that the freelancer knows you intend to put your name on the article. This will usually cost $4 to $5 for each article.

When creating an article you must make it interesting and cover the topic you are describing very well. The title needs to catch the attention of those looking for information so be sure to include the keywords of your article in the title. How to articles are very popular so you could use How to in the title. Teaching copywriting is for yet another article so we will move on.

The article body needs to be aprox 400 – 600 words. If your topic is much larger consider making it a series of articles.

The bio is your golden ticket to traffic. The bio is generally designed to talk about the author. In my experience you give a short sentence about yourself then put a plug for your site. If you have something to give away like a free report that would be something you would want to put in your bio.

Your article is ready so now you need to submit it to article submission sites. Three of the top sites are:

• Go Articles
• Ezine Articles
• Article City

There are hundreds more just do a search for Article Submission Sites.

Submitting articles can take quite a bit of time so you may want to consider purchasing a software to speed up the process. I suggest using Unique Article Wizard. With Unique Article Wizard You can submit to hundreds of Article Submission Sites with a simple to use interface. Unique Article Wizard has many other options for article submissions. If this service is closed you can get on the waiting list and I strongly suggest you do. This is the best article submission service I have seen.

Article submission sites vary in the amount of time it takes for them to approve your article. Some take a few days and others take weeks. Submit to as many as you can and your traffic will begin to flow.

Submitting articles regularly will get your name as an autority out there. Using Articles Series is also a good way to get people to come to your site to stay informed.

You now have everything you need to know to drive massive amounts of traffic to your site using article marketing.

Unique Content is the main thing search engines are after. They spend great amounts of money to figure out just how to get you the exact information you are looking for.

Next your site must be a site that shows that it is an expert on the subject. You will get your site listed much higher this way.

What I’m about to show you will get you listed and give the search engines exactly what they want. Great Content and that you are an expert on your subject.

To become an authority site you need lots of other sites linking to you and when other sites that are an autority on a subject link to your sites then your site will have even more relevance in the eyes of the search engines.

Now that we know to get listed and to get good rankings we need to:

1. Have Good Content.  
2. Be an authority on the subject matter.

I’m sure right about now your saying, “Well that’s all good but how do we do that?”.

Article Marketing is the method to become an expert on our topic and get hundreds of authoritive sites linking back to us.

With Article Marketing you can not put any links to your site within the body of the article. They do allow you to put a resource or bio for your articles. In this box you will put something about yourself let your audience know you are a authority on the subject and then link back to your site.

As an example you will want to say something like, “John has been training horses for the last 35 years. His site horse training tips on horse training is loaded with tips and tricks on training horses.”

In the bio you will want to link horse training tips back to your site. With this you are now known as an authorty on the subject of horse training and you see how it draws the customer back to your site.

Writing is just not your cup of tea? Outsource your work. There are many freelance sites that you can have the work done for a fair price.

You might be saying how am I going to submit to all those sites. Don’t worry there is software that will do that for you.

The service I use is Unique Article Wizard. It will submit your article to over 600 article submission sites. It can create many unique articles using a secret method. Best of all you don’t have to go to each of the 600 sites and signup.

So now that we have our articles submitted to the article sites the magic begins to happen. When you submit your article to the article submission sites you give them permission to allow others to use your article on their site. The caveat is that they must use your article as is and include your bio (resource box).

It will only take a few days and your site will begin to spread. Many authority sites will pick up your article and give you the authority we are looking for.

After the spiders find your articles on these other and authority sites you will then see your site listed in the search engines. The more sites that pick you up the higher you will climb.

This is the method to get your site listed fast.

The most important thing is that you take this information and use it.

To my surprise the quality of the products are quite good. The products are grouped in categories like:

Every product has some flaws and here is what I didn’t like about the product:

• The management section was not real intuitive. You can figure it out but I wasn’t sure what sections I had to fill out and which ones I could leave blank.
• There isn’t any real apparent help files. They do provide a help section where you send them a message. I think if they put up FAQ and Documentation it would be much better.

I give the Seven Dollar Mall a rating of 4 stars out of 5.

I know your asking what is Squidoo. Well in Part 3 of our Traffic series you are going to learn what squidoo is and how to use it to drive traffic to your site.

What is Squidoo ?

Squidoo is a website that was founded by Seth Godin in October of 2005. Seth is an avid Blogger, Speaker and Author. Now one of the top 500 tracked websites by Alexa for traffic it is a network of user generated pages called lenses.

Lenses can give your point of view, recommendations or expertise on any subject.

How to Use Squidoo to drive Traffic.

You will need to take the following steps:

• Setup a squidoo account.
• Create your lense.
• Add a link to your squeeze page.

We will now talk more about this in detail.

To setup your account you will go to http://www.listadvice.com/resources/squidoo.php. Click on the signup link and then follow the easy steps.

Squidoo is a very modular system you can add all sorts of modules to your lense. As defined earlier your lense is simply your page on squidoo. Some of the basic modules that are available are:

• Amazon
• Del.icio.us bookmarks
• Ebay
• Flickr Photos
• Google Blog Search
• Guest Book
• Link List
• Orbitz!
• RSS : Add your own feed
• Text/Write Module
• Text List
• You Tube Videos

As you can see you have alot of modules that you can add. They have other modules in the following categories:

• Basic
• New!
• Money Makers
• Plexo
• Search A-Z

Some other Squidoo features

Squidoo is very different from other sites as you will get to share in the money made from adsense or any of the modules you setup on your lense.  You can give your share to charity,  split it and give a portion to charity and a portion to youself, or keep it all for yourself. It has been said that if you give your proceeds to chartiy or at least share it you will get better rankings.  I’ve not tested this but I give a portion to charity just because it makes me feel better. Making money with squidoo is not the focus of this article but it is a nice to know. We are using squidoo to get people to signup for our list.

Setting up your link 

Now to get your link on the squidoo site you will want to add the Text/Write module or you can add it to your introduction page.

How should it look

When you all done your lense will look similar to the one I setup. While you’re taking a look why not rank my squidoo page. You do this by clicking on the stars that say your rank. 5 stars is the best. You will see that this ranking system is how you can get your site viewed more. The better your site ranking the higher you get listed in the squidoo search system.

As of the writing of this article squidoo has an Alexa Rank of 487.  With that you can be assured that your page on squidoo will be picked up by the search engines which in turn will bring you some organic traffic as well.
